The members of Northumberland Co-operative Limited held their 65th Annual General Meeting.

The Board of Directors of Northumberland Co-operative is pleased to announce that it has re-elected for 2008-2009 as President, John MacDiarmid of Napan and as Secretary-Treasurer, Glenford Copp of Trout Brook. The Board has elected as Vice-President, Percy Scott of Stonehaven.

The members of Northumberland Co-operative Limited held their 65th Annual General Meeting on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Lion's Center in Miramichi. At the meeting, reports were given by the directors and management on the Co-op's operation. Sales for 2007 were $76,012,643, an increase of 3% from 2006.

Mayor John McKay presented a plaque to Northumberland in recognition to its outstanding business dedication and recent investment in the City of Miramichi.

Norma Tomiczek, Board member of the Canadian Co-operative Association gave a presentation to the members on the Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada.

Honourable Charles Hubbard, MP, also spoke to the members.

The members re-elected Gerald Lyons of Miramichi and Bob Taylor of Lower Derby to a three-year term. Also elected to a three-year term was Percy Scott of Stonehaven.

Other directors serving on the Board of Northumberland Co-operative Limited are: Hugh Dickson of Napan, Eric Glendenning of Black River Bridge, John MacDonald of Bartibogue Bridge, Fraser McCallum of Tabusintac, Lloyd Siddall of Parker Road, and Joerg Von Waldow of Cornhill.

Mr. Donald Foran of Little Bartibogue retired from the board after completing the maximum nine years of serving as required under the Co-op by-laws.

Northumberland, the only New Brunswick owned fluid dairy, processes milk at Miramichi for distribution throughout New Brunswick. It also distributes ice cream and frozen food throughout the Province. The Miramichi operation includes a Tim-BR Mart Lumber and Hardware retail store.
