May 26th 2009

Warmer temperatures have finally arrived with great anticipation for outdoor sports and activities. "Keeping kids active is what the Western Valley Soccer league is all about", said Kent Kuhn Recreation Director for the Town of Hartland.

The Western Valley Recreational Soccer league represents soccer teams from communities such as: Plaster Rock, Perth-Andover, Bath, Florenceville-Bristol, Centreville, Hartland, Woodstock and Nackawic.

Joining the league as a supporter this year is Northumberland Co-operative Dairy. "We are pleased to announce that Northumberland Dairy is a partner with the league with a sponsorship of team jerseys for the Under 10 and Under 12 divisions. That represents over 350 players", continued Kuhn. "The new jerseys are a needed addition to the league and we would like to recognize Northumberland Dairy for its generous contribution to the sport and to these communities."

Soccer is a growing sport that offers youth the opportunity to have fun, be active and develop teamwork and coordination skills. Northumberland Dairy's investment in supporting youth in sports such as soccer, baseball, volleyball and hockey has benefited every child. "Every child will be a winner from participating in physical activity and by developing life long exercise habits," said Jack Christie General Manager Northumberland Co-operative Dairy. The program is not limited to any one sport and has helped a variety of sports teams.

Since 1942, Northumberland Dairy continues to be a quality manufacturer, processing dairy products for distribution across New Brunswick.
