67th Annual General Meeting

The Board of Directors of Northumberland Co-operative is pleased to announce that it has re-elected for 2010-2011 as President, John MacDiarmid of Napan, as Vice President, Percy Scott of Stonehaven, and as Secretary-Treasurer, Glenford Copp of Trout Brook.

The members of Northumberland Co-operative Limited held their 67th Annual General Meeting on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Lion's Center in Miramichi. At the meeting, reports were given by the directors and management on the Co-op's operation. Sales for 2009 were $82,194,789, an increase of 4.9% from 2008.

Marcel Garvie, representing the Canadian Co-operative Association, gave a presentation on their international and domestic activities. Doug Wright from the Co-operators Insurance Group also made a presentation on the benefits to Northumberland of being a member-owner of the Co-operators.

The members re-elected Glenford Copp of Trout Brook, Eric Glendenning of Black River Bridge, and Lloyd Siddall of Parker Road to a three-year term. Also elected to a three-year term was Jason Smearer of North Shannonvale.

Other directors serving on the Board of Northumberland Co-operative Limited are: Fraser McCallum of Tabusintac, Gerald Lyons of Miramichi, John MacDonald of Bartibogue Bridge, Bob Taylor of Lower Derby, and Joerg Von Waldow of Cornhill.

Retiring from the Board was Hugh Dickson of Napan who completed his three-term limit in accordance with the Co-operativeメs by-laws.

Northumberland, the only New Brunswick owned fluid dairy, processes milk at Miramichi for distribution throughout New Brunswick. It also distributes ice cream and frozen food throughout the Province. The Miramichi operation includes a Tim-BR Mart Lumber and Hardware retail store.
