Quality Controls.

Testing in the laboratory.

Northumberland maintains a comprehensive in-house Quality Control testing program on both the chemical and microbiological specifications of all Northumberland brand name products. All products are thoroughly tested throughout the receiving, storage, processing, and packaging stages to ensure product integrity is maintained. Verification comes from random testing done by the Province of New Brunswick Dairy Laboratory as well as from a private outside laboratory.

Plant control board.

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are conducted throughout the plant in handling and sanitation procedures. GMP is monitored by Quality Control personnel to ensure product safety. Northumberland is working towards implementing Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) program within its operations. The program is based on internationally recognized risk management principles.
